3/31/2010

Today was a very hectic day. Period.

However, I had a good diet day. Shake and banana for breakfast, snack bar, turkey, cheese and avacado wrap, apple for snack, fruit and yogurt parfait from McDonalds (was in dire need for food) and now I am having a shake. I will have popcorn in a bit too!

3-30-2010


Good Morning all!

I believe that today will be a good day. I am excited about meeting with my ladies tonight from church to catch up and pray for one another. I am so thankful for the body of Christ! What a blessing He gives when He saves us. He gives us Himself AND He gives us His people!

So, diet. Yesterday I totally forgot my snacks and shake. I had a small weight watchers lemon cake for a morning snack and half a cobb salad for lunch (no chicken). I have a confession, the salad had blue cheese and bacon. Two of my favorite things....bacon and cheese. I started to feel really weak and tired and once I got home from work I have garlic hummus with a piece of pita bread. For supper Alan and I had BBQ chicken. With the chicken I made rosemary garlic potatoes (we split one potato) and green beans.

I looked at the ingredients for BBQ sauce. Did you know that it has high fructose corn syrup? Dr. Oz says to stay away from it, but I love the sauce. Any good recipes for a healthy BBQ sauce?
Oh yeah, lost 3 pounds this past week. :-)

Happy Monday!

March is almost over. I cannot believe that we are already a quarter of the way through the year. Well, today is the day I weigh in. I am hoping to lose around four pounds but I am not sure if that will happen. One thing I have forgotten to mention is my tendency to nibble. Does that count? For example, I was making stromboli on Saturday. I took a bite of the salami and a bit of pepperoni. Also, I have a horrible addiction to cheese. It is one of my favorite things to eat. Random times I will get our really good Parmesan grate cheese and eat finger fulls. It is just so delish!

Yesterday, shake for breakfast with 5 strawberries, shake for lunch with apples with about 3 teaspoons of peanut butter. For the snack 100 calorie popcorn and for dinner....1-2 cups of pasta with olive oil, garlic and cherry tomatoes, salad, with 5 chips with a little guacamole.

Also, kudos to my lovely sister in law who has been doing this diet with me! She lost an awesome 6 pounds this past week. You go girl. (Whoop Whoop).

Happy Sunday!

I love Sundays. So, I took a picture of the stromboli last night and I am unable to locate it and download it to my phone. Arg! So, last night I had two pieces of stromboli (equivalent to 2 slices of pizza) with a salad and a banana as a late night snack.

Looking forward to today. I get to watch the kiddos at church! Then hopefully I'll get to chill with the hubby this afternoon and have our missional community group this evening. Maybe I can fit in a trip to the gym. We'll see. I 'll keep you posted.

So Happy Saturday. It has been a peaceful day. I am sitting here watching Julie and Julia and just got done with the finishing touches of the stromboli dough. It's in the oven rising right now. :-)

I shall post a picture of the finished product.

I've been good today, shake for breakfast, about 3 cups of popcorn for a snack, an apple and slimfast bar for lunch. I may have a little more popcorn as an afternoon snack, and some stromboli and salad for supper. Looking forward to the evening.

3-26-10 Part 2


Date night. So this evening Alan and I went to Chevy's, one of my favorite places. I read about places that bring rolls and chips to only let them serve one basket of chips. I pretended the second basket didnt exist. Chevys offered a meal that allow for half a quesadilla and half a salad. Instead of the amazing steak fajitas, I had this instead. I am not sure of the calories, but it was much better. So, today goes as follows, shake, bar, shake, apple, doritoes(10 - 15 chips) with french onion dip (ick), about 10 tortilla chips, and that meal. Overall not too shabby. :-)

Happy Friday everyone!

It has been a weird day today. I didn't sleep well last night, but I have been a good dieter today. (And only two slices of homemade pizza last night.) I had my shake this morning, a slim fast bar (chololatey vanilla something..AMAZING!) and a vanilla shake for lunch. I hate the shake late so, I am thinking that I will hold off on the apple. One thing I am noticing is that the premade shakes are really hurting my stomach. Any suggestions about what I should do about that. The powder with milk and ice is great and my stomach handles that.

I am very excited about date night tonight. My husband and I need it! I will try to behave and maybe he will be open to sharing a dish.

I have also begun reading a new book which I really hope to finish. It is called Becoming a Woman who pleases God. It is by the director of home ecomonics at the Master's College and I am hoping it will be a blessing. I read the first few pages last night and it was a huge blessing. The verse that highlighted the chapter was the verse in Proverbs that says a wise woman builds her house but a foolish one tears it town. I want to be a wise woman and a wife that honors the Lord. She zoomed in on Proverbs 31. You know what I learned that really opened my eyes. This woman serves the poor....she doesnt care about her four and no more. May I have endurance to finish this book and apply and grow in grace in my Lord.

Greetings.

I must say that today has been rather a tough day. My mother had a birthday today. I live 2000 miles from her and when I heard my brother was grilling and having her and others over, I wanted to be there so. I miss her and my family today. I also found out that my husband will be working his 2nd Saturday in a row. It's hard for me. I love to be with him and spend time with him. I pray that I can remember Philippians 4:4-8. I pray that I can remember and believe it and put it into practice. To rejoice in the Lord, to pray with thanksgiving, experience the peace that will guard my heart and mind, and to think on things that honor the Lord.

As far as dieting goes, today was an okay day. This morning shake, apple for a snack, turkey club wrap with fruit and no afternoon snack. However, tonight I will be having pizza. I will update on the amount of slices. (The goal is 2.) I hope to go to the gym in the morning. I read an article on training to run a 10k in 2o weeks. So many options.....I'll keep you posted.

Good Morning to all!

I can pretty much say that yesterday I did not deviate from the diet. (Not unless you count the fried pita chips...that was it!) I had my shake and banana for breakfast, half a meal bar for lunch, 4 small skewers for lunch (1 beef, 3 chicken), salad, hummus and the pita chips, with fruit. I love Tuesdays at my job! We get free lunch brought in by pharmacy reps! For dinner I had a shake and I went to bed. I also made it to the gym. Ten minutes on the stairmaster (so painful) and 20 minutes on the bike like machine. Yesterday was a good day. :-)

It was a great Monday. I had a good day at work and an awesome dinner with a dear friend from my church. We got to catch up and just see how the Lord is working in our lives. It was such a wonderful time!

I did deviate from my diet tonight. Arg...I continually see myself typing that continually. I had a shake
and banana for breakfast. Lasagna and garlic bread for lunch (didn't know I was eating out for dinner)
no snack and Chinese chicken salad (minus the chicken). If you have never had one of these, they are
awesome! Filled with toasted almonds, romaine lettuce, crunchy noodles (this one had pasta) and amazing
sweet dressing, you must try one.....NOW.

I plan on going to the gym tomorrow and not DEVIATING from my diet tomorrow.

Happy Monday!

So, the weekend is over and we must start over today with a new week. Good news, I weighed in this morning at lost 3.5 pounds. The slim fast diet is working. My goal this week is to continue to lose a couple of more pounds and to hopefully go to the gym at least 4 times this week. I think it can be done....maybe. :-)

2 more months until my birthday! :-)

Just had to say. So, today I woke up with allergies. I am staying home from church because I don't feel well at all. Diet has gone well today but it is only 9:25 am! This morning I had a shake and strawberries and banana's. I may deviate today because it's our friend's birthday and we were going to go to Famous Dave's BBQ the pupusas for dinner.

Also, last night was a blessing. The lasagna was amazing and the company was even better!

Happy Saturday!

It has been a beautiful day in Hollywood! The sun it out and the weather is perfect! We just have the windows open and no lights on. Yay we can conserve energy.

Today the diet has been ok. I went a brunch this morning but I did pretty good. Small scoop of hashbrown casserole, pineapple, donut holes, and a small sausage link. I have had my two shakes. I will probably deviate a bit tonight since I am making lasagna. Oh well....

Happy Friday!

Today has been a good day thus far. The only unfortunate thing was that I overslept and was unable to make it to the gym this morning. Oh, and I spent 30-40 minutes on the phone with my bank. They made a 500 dollar screw up! At least they fixed it!

This morning I had my shake, then just had my slim fast snack. (I just learned there are 2 types of slim fast bars, one for snack and one for meal. I've been eating the meal ones for snacks! Whoops). I am a little discouraged. I stepped on the scale and I have not lost any weight. I understand it has only been 3 days. Maybe I should be a bit more patient.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. I will be going to a birthday party and I will be able to get some shopping done. I'm still excited about dinner tomorrow night and my lasagna! Looking forward to posting recipe and picture online tomorrow.

So, I have done well with dieting today. I had an apple as an afternoon snack, then had a shake and some strawberries. I will have some popcorn a little later for a snack. I am very curious to see what the scale says on Monday. I really would like to lose about 40 pounds.

I am currently watching flash forward. This has been very interesting. Looking forward to the weekend. We're buying airline tickets to go home during thanksgiving. I also am cooking an awesome lasagna for a couple from our church. I'm so excited!

Good day!

I must admit today has been a great day. I am feeling much better. (I went home yesterday with a fever.) So, this diet has been very challenging today. I am seeing more and more my addiction and bondage to food, and my desire for it. I am also seeing just how undisciplined I am! I also see how good God is to show me my sin, now I need grace for repentance.

Today, I've done pretty well with my dieting. I had a slimfast shake for breakfast, a snack bar, and due to hunger I bought a turkey club wrap with a cup of fruit for lunch. I must say it was tasty. :-) I will not exercise today just because my body needs a break. My abs were so sore the past two days it hurt to laugh! I shall go tomorrow morning.

Also, very much looking forward to tonight's Flash Forward. Any fans?

Happy St Patty's day, however, I am not sure what the point is for the celebration.

This morning I am tired. I woke up at 5 to go to the gym. It was a pretty good work out but I am learning that I am not that great of a runner. I jogged/walked about 13 mins then I hopped over the the bike to bike about 20. I did some ab work outs (my abs are so sore), then came home. I had my banana and my shake and now I am at work. (Maybe I should not share that info...whoops.)

"Honey, can you leave my beard trimmer plugged in?" my husband just asked. Oh how I love him! I love being married. It is truly one of the greatest blessings from God (second to salvation of course). This morning I am reading Exodus 33. Many wonderful things to find here from God. My favorite verse thus far is v34. "My Presence will go with you and I will give you rest." It is very much like Matthew 11:28-30. God knows how frail we are, yet as believers His presence goes with us. Keep reading to Exodus 34:6-6, "And the Lord passed before him(Moses) and proclaimed 'The LORD the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and fourth generation." How wonderful!

So this morning the slim fast diet begins. I seriously considered it after my sister in law law (is that a term, if not, oh well) recommended it. I'm excited her and I get to journey together on this. This morning I had my shake which was pretty good. Around 10 or so I will have my snack, will probably splurge for lunch (maybe) and I will do another snack, with a shake for supper. I was frustrated with myself, I bought the powder and not the canned. Oh well...Have a great day everyone.

Welcome

So, I figured I would try to be a bit diligent about this blogging thing. Hopefully, I will be able to share a wide variety of things, diets, food, recipes, life in general, being married, and Christianity. I will try to keep you all posted.
